CHIPS COMPUTER CAMPS 

 

CHIPS "STEAM" Computer Camp is a FUN! 6-week innovative TechEd program offering academic enrichment, creativity, critical thinking and career prep for children rising to the 6th – 9th grades (ages 11 -14); both typical and special learners.  ONLY four (4) campers are enrolled each week to assure direct, 1-on-1 personalized instruction.  

 

Keyboarding, Tech Ed. coding, robotics, apps development, simulation games social media, business systems technology and etiquette training makes this program "the perfect way to learn work and play".  Each week offers a new thematic unit and hands-on interactive project with STEAM topic such as music, fashion, video games, restaurants, basketball and special effects.

 

Arts, crafts, physical recreation and lunch* provided by parents in a small group setting makes this camp camp learner-centered and one that caters to the whole child needs and interests alike.  Students learn about creating e-portfolios, receive certificates each week and learn how to build their career, resume, job-hunting and interviewing skills for the future.

 

Designed and taught by Tekelia Kelly, "The Code.org Teacher", CHIPS has enriched the learning of hundreds of students across Memphis and Chattanooga, TN since 1995, including St. Nicholas School and the Chattanoooga Autistm Center.  Ms. Kelly is an engineer, STEAM Teaching Artist with the Tennessee Arts Commission; trained Code.org and Maker Camp Instructor; former Hamilton County K-12 technology education school teacher; parent of a special needs child; and trained in Autism childcare.

Sessions: June 13 – 17, June 25 – 29, June 27 – July 1, July 11 – 15, 18 – 22, 25 – 29, 2016

 

Daily Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

 

Cost: $195.00 per week, per school age camper. 

 

Early Bird Registration: 10% discount with deadline of April 6, 2015. Register for more than one week and receive a 20% discount.

 

IMPORTANT!  Parents must provide lunches for student each day.

A fun and interactive learning enrichment program for rising 6th–9th graders (ages 11 -14), both typical and special learners.  Designed to empower campers' individual talents, interests, skills and abilities; and encourage them to create, learn, discover and explore.  Using exciting and engaging edutainment games including coding, robotics, simulations, apps and keyboarding, this camp is "the perfect way...to learn, work and play"!

 

Dedicated to helping students go from school to work more successfully, this

camp enables four (4) students to excel each week with cultivating and caring coaching.

Direct, 1-on-1 and personalized instruction help build creative, innovative and critical thinking skills; and campers explore a different theme of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) each week, as well as technology-infused careers.  Award certificates are also given for career portfolios.
